Hello Pauline, can you tell us where you come from?
I was born near Lille, a few kilometers from the Belgian border. At the age of 18, with my high school diploma in hand, I left for London as an au pair for three months.
I then moved to Australia at the age of 19 for a three-year experience in Melbourne.
I am studying tourism and am training to become a tourist guide.
Back in France at the age of 22, I started entrepreneurship and continue this adventure even today.
What is your academic background?
At 17 I obtained the BAFA (diploma of aptitude for the functions of animator, which is still used by me today).
I have 2 different degrees in Australia, both obtained in 2011:
- Diploma of Tourism and Guiding (BTS equivalent)
- TESOL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
What are your professional experiences?
I was lucky enough to be a tourist guide in Australia during my studies, it had a strong impact on the way I approach teaching.
At the same time, I was able to work in Luxury Hotels in Geneva and Paris (4 and 5* hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants).
My greatest professional experience is that of a trainer, which I have been doing for 12 years. I have taught individually and in groups for an adult audience, children and students, in schools and in companies.
In 2016, I opened my own foreign language training center for a network of franchises (15 centers including 2 internationally, for a global turnover of 1.5 M€) which is now in the top 3 of the best incomes.
I am renewing the operation with the opening of the second training center in Paris in 2020.
In addition to my position as director, in 2021 I became network education manager for the entire franchise.
What are your hobbies, your passions?
I am very passionate about art in all its forms, especially music. Live concerts, symphony orchestra, opera... My weeks are very busy with shows!
I have been dancing since I was 11, I explored several styles and discovered salsa, a favorite discipline that I even taught for 4 years.
My passion for languages, coupled with that of salsa, made me want to learn Spanish, which I now speak fluently and which I put into practice during my travels.
A few years ago, I also started learning Chinese and I hope to get back to it very soon.
I am constantly exploring the world with twenty countries visited.
If you had to define yourself in 3 words what would you say?
Passionate, intuitive, positive. Qualities that are a strength in the world of training and education!
Why did you create English By P ?
Executives and managers face several challenges:
- Adapt to rapid changes
- Communicate orally in front of a variety of audiences, be able to lead presentations/meetings
- Constantly update their skills
- Be ready to seize new opportunities to boost their career
During my career, I became aware that the training courses delivered should be in line with the needs, challenges and constraints of companies.
In addition, when I was at the head of a Qualiopi certified center, I lost speed of execution, files requiring cumbersome administrative processes, which impacted the deadlines for starting training courses.
Passing mandatory exams at the end of the training (e.g. TOEIC) did not necessarily make it possible to value learners' progress in their own skills, and could even become a source of stress (lack of time for revisions, fear of failure).
From these enriching experiences, I learned my own lessons about how I wanted to guide pedagogy. So I decided to create English by P. A new vision for the implementation of training courses, which brings agility, flexibility and personalization.
How is it different from other institutes?
The analysis of the need and the method defined for each support is our know-how.
Our trainers have several hats: with international professional experience, specialized in specific areas (coaching, marketing, communication, management, etc.),...
I select the trainer according to the field of expertise of each learner.
Chez English by P, there is no one-size-fits-all formula that can be multiplied to infinity. The experience is unique because each learner has their background, their level of trust, their expertise.
And of course, all of this is done in a good mood and with a positive attitude.
Who is this for?
Professionals from all sectors of activity are welcome.
If you have set yourself a goal, for example a new position, an evolution within the company, an expatriation and a change of life, or even the passage of a certification, call us!
There are no prerequisites in terms of age or level.
Courses can take place in person or by videoconference depending on the distance and your preferences.
Fun facts about you?
I already appeared on the cover of a wellness book, it was in Australia!
I sang at 2 pop rock concerts, including one in Geneva, Switzerland (ready for an international career!).
My philosophy of life is minimalism.
Any last words for the end the end?
Let the adventure begin!
